had a funny encounter on the way home today. i was on the bus. paid the driver in notes and he owed me 50cents change. he asked me to wait for the next passenger to pay him. then a negro came along and paid his fare. the driver gave me 40cents from the negro and i see him rummaging in his pocket for the last 10cent. he couldn't find any and so he said 'could you borrow me 10cents?' 'you don't have 10cents? well, then it's okay.' 'really? thank you!:D' he told his friend about it and i think i heard something like 'do you have 10cents?' maybe he was planning to pay me back. funny!

i was feeling quite good about the whole thing and so i'm blogging about this now. happy to show foreigners that we malaysians are helpful and loving people. *ahhem* i meant me! xD

symphony of praise

another successful concert by the PJYO and grace note choir to raise funds for a nepalese fund to help them live a better life here in malaysia. a good cause by the church. the concert was held in first baptist church, pj. i was astounded by it's huge stage and awesome surrounding system. even though we weren't playing on a grand piano as per previous concerts (it was an upright piano this time), every mistakes of ours could be heard clearly right at the back of the hall. that raised our hypertension level by a tad bit. just a LITTLE bit. i kid you not.

i played He. again. i'm pretty sure the audience are bored of me by now. seeing that i've played the song again and again for the past few concerts. :p despite playing it for several times, i still manage to creep in a few mistakes here again. how typical of me. gladly to say that not many people notice my shortfalls. if you don't count mr lam, the WHOLE orchestra and well maybe my fellow solo pianists performers. :p

the concert went on smoothly. grace notes were awesome as they always are. love love love their harmony! every hard work they put in was worth it. as for the solo pianists performance, we did okay. yuesum blanked out for a few bars but manage to get it back right on track. now that's something worth applauding for. kaier had her fair share of mistakes and making the orchestra chase after her 'rushed' timing. overall, it was a fun night and i was happy to finally strike that off my calendar. mission accomplished!

freebies!

 

mcd giving out free breakfast for a minimum purchase of rm5. you need to have a voucher of course. can be found in newspapers, mcd part time workers in bus stations (that's how i got mine) or you can just print it from mcd's facebook page.

went to connought outlet on tuesday morning. mcbreakfast ends at 11am. there was already a crowd, and that particular outlet had the courtesy of closing 1 of their counters. -.- and the workers were so SLOW! taking their own sweet time in taking orders/picking up beverages/lining it up on the tray etc. in the end i didn't get my free breakfast. pissed off! it was partially my fault too. i started lining up around 10.30am. :p

tried my luck again on wednesday morning. mcd outlet opposite of taman midah is so much better! despite a queue and 1 counter closed, their service is quite fast. went home with 4 free breakfasts (redeemed 2 vouchers). i'm one satisfied happy customer. (: 

i'm contented. :)

we humans are so insignificant and weak under Nature's wrath. can only pray that God relief their pain and give them strength to carry on in life.

stand on your own feet!

as friends, we can only do and say so much. if you don't wish to take any actions, what else can we do? truthful words are always the most hurtful ones. be thankful that we nag at you. if we don't, you're no better off than a stranger across the street. you may find us annoying and busybody for minding your business, but the truth is, we're worried for you. how many more retakes could you handle? i know once is enough. twice is the last straw. don't let it get to the 3rd time. by then, you'd wish you never took up this course in the 1st place. i may not be the best person to give all this advice seeing that i've had my own share of failures. i'm still learning from my mistakes. and you should too. be responsible for your own actions and promises. we can't possibly monitor your every move to make sure you're in the right path. no one can do that for you but yourself. don't crack your head finding stupid excuses for yourself to skip classes. it'd only snowball into a bigger problem. if you aren't even disciplined enough to attend classes that's already PAID for, i don't see any way you'd be disciplined enough to study on your own. no point wasting your parents hard earned money by skipping classes. what's the point? just so your parents could 'assume' that you're being a goody kid attending all classes and trying your very best to pass the papers? who are you trying to fool? you didn't even try to attempt the test for goodness sake!

grow up! it's about time you should.
