a trip up north part 1 (2009)

THIS IS SO OVERDUE. like A YEAR overdue. i'm pathetically sorry! made a promise to myself that i'd post it up before i go to thailand this year aka 2010. so here it is. read this up while i brew my 2nd post on this year's thailand trip. it's FULL of words. i bet this would keep you company while i come up with the other one. :p

********************************************************************************************

went to thailand with the family on the 26th. we wanted to leave kl earlier but there were christmas service, family gatherings and stuff. so we could only leave after everything was settled.

my aunt's a thai and her family in nakhon built a new house there. so we all went there to check it out, with a little vacation for ourselves on the way. we started journey around 11am. my back was stiff for sitting so long and i couldn't sleep the whole journey because i had to make sure my dad wasn't sleepy. when we finally reached nakhon it was around 9pm. and when i saw the house, i was like 'omggggg, is this the right house?!!'. it was so cool. and to know that they built it all by themselves is even more impressing.

the house was bigger than i expected. with 2 toilets, 3 rooms, a kitchen and huge hall. they even have a driveway for goodness sake. so not your ordinary kampung house. and with the money my uncle gave them, it'd only be enough to build a small small house here in kl, but they manage to build a mini bungalow there. picture that.

- chickens in nakhon sleeps on trees.
seriously. they're only slightly bigger than a dove and they'd fly up the tree to sleep around evening. crazy man. now who says chickens can't fly?

- the water there was freezing cold.
in nakhon, they use well waters for bathing and washing and everything. and boy i tell you the water is so colddddddddd. *shivers* i know you'd say i'm a spoiled brat with the luxury of hot water for my whole life but it's not about that. even my aunt went 'woohoooo' while she's in the shower. instant wake up call i tell you. the cold water here is nothing compared to that. nothing.

- the kids are really kids.
there's no internet connections or astro in nakhon. at least i think they don't. so the kids have to find their own entertainments. they'd be running around the house chasing after the dog or competing to see who's the fastest to climb up a pole or killing bugs and insects in the house. they're not the same with kids in the city. in kl, even an 8 year old has a facebook account. but these kids are really just kids, if you get my drift. they have all this innocence and passion. this their childhood. all this will become beautiful memories for them to look back upon. i kinda envy them.

- uncle onn's special pet.
1 of my aunt's brother, uncle onn/ohn/on (i never get the hang of thai names) owns a flying fox named han as a pet. still craving for hamsters as pet? pleaseeee lah. out of date dy. :p mum was terrified of it. she can't stand furry animals. don't know why though. han is kinda cute. it'd curl up into a ball and sleep on my hand. not sure it could fly though. looks more like a baby squirrel than a flying fox. but i've never seen a real flying fox. :p wished i could bring back a flying fox as a pet. mum would be FURIOUS.

happy 19 kahsoon!

we celebrated kahsoon's birthday in papa johns pyramid. can't really remember when was it already. somewhere in july i think. hmmm. sorry kahsoon for not remembering your birthday! we only had 1.5 hour break so it was a really rush birthday celebration. not much time to dwaddle and take pictures. heck, we didn't even have enough time to EAT. liting was fidgeting about getting the bills right after our pizzas arrive at our table. hahaha stress much.

the F4 guys bought him a reebox bag and we all chipped in money. but being the GREAT friends we are, we conned him into believing we got him an eraser for his birthday. in our offense, the eraser was a really good one okaay! anyway, he believed it and even thanked us for it. then only we gave him the REAL birthday gift. the guys went all out to buy the eraser just to con him. great friends i tell you.

we also bought a cake and it was meant to be a surprise but the waitress in papa johns spoilt it. she took the cake out before we asked her too. we tried to stop her before kahsoon saw the cake. it was so funny because kahsoon didn't have a clue what was going on looking at us waving to the waitress behind him to take the cake away. anyway, plan failed terribly.

i know this is so overdue but the pictures are so pretty that it deserves to be posted. so here it is.

He who matters all

i felt touched after reading her blog. she has been away from god for some time. and now she's finding her way back. 'i make it a point to go to church every weekend. i need god.' that's what she wrote.

i've always envy those with great urge to seek god. those that make it to church eventhough their family are all against him being a christian. those that crave for god every single second of their life. those with this huge hole in their hearts that they know can only be filled with god's love. they are so strong and firm in god that i feel so incomparable and just plain sad.

i guess being born in a christian family isn't all that glamorous after all. i was taught from young to fill in the religion blank on forms with the word christian. i was taught to pray and read the bible. i was taught that god is THE god and he loves me so very much that he gave me his son. he gave us all his son. what more can i want or need other than this. but somehow along life's way i discovered that i can't really feel it anymore. the passion and strife for his words. i've been too distracted in life. in all the small, petty things that i can no longer see what matters the most. Him.

i had it the easy way. i didn't have to fight with my family every weekend just to go to church. i don't have to anger my grandparents just because i chose a religion different from theirs. i didn't have to choose to be a christian. and i guess i took god for granted. god gave me a wake-up call through my friend. he wants me to go back to him. to choose him above all other things. to know that he still loves me even when i'm so downright stupid and blind to see that. i see it now. and i'm gonna make a change in my life.

pray for me.

ben is 17 now

me and peay ying celebrated ben's 17th birthday in gardens. only 3 of us. everyone else was either NOT in malaysia or grounded by parents or too sleepy cuz they stayed up till 3am the night before or just too busy to join us. so yeah, mini celebration for the birthday boy.

midvalley's cinema was packed full for step up 3 so we went over to gardens to try our luck. no luck was needed apparently. the place was so expensive i don't think much people would go there for a movie. well we did. the seats there were all couple seats so 1 of us had to sit alone. awww. well actually the seats are big enough for 3 of us. and sitting together was a better option because the air cond is so freaking cold! -.- me and py were seating together. birthday boy was seating alone. i was moving from seat to seat to teman the 2 cousins. and with any luck, i was annoying the person sitting right behind us too, for having an itchy butt. :p

step up 3 was freaking awesome! way better than the 2nd movie i watched in ppstream. the dance moves and especially the last dance battle was way wicked! super love the guy that did the robot dance. he's like the terminator dude! omg! very impressive. ben enjoyed himself too with the dancer's butt and boobs. pfft. guys. -.-

chilli's was full to the brim. so we went to TGIF for lunch. the waiter gave ben a slice of birthday cake and made him blow the candle while the waiter was holding it a few steps away. well, they actually wanted to made him drink a whole bottle of henz chilli sauce and give a speech and sing a song but their plan failed terribly. our birthday boy was just too shy. hahaha.

super huge domokun at gardens. ♥

happy birthday daddyben! (:

i'm a dreamer

i had the weirdest dream last night. not just A dream, but 2 weird dreams. can't really remember what was it about already. but i remember telling myself that when i wake up i must blog about them. committed blogger yo!

so here i am blogging about the dreams that i've only pieces of what it was all about. this is called staying firm to my promises. even promises to myself. which is to blog about it. hahahah.

well i only remember 1 of my dreams. it was like this. in the dream my family was really poor. we were experiencing a financial crisis or some sort. and i was talking to my grandpa, asking him if our lives would turn for the better someday. he said something to comfort me that made me woke up crying, but i can't remember what he said. and then i fell back asleep.

they say dreams are direct opposites of what is to happen in reality. they say dreams are just our imagination. they say dreams are unreal.

i say dreams reflect what we want, need, hope and wish the most.

i miss you, grandpa.

window phone

this is the in-est phone i ever saw. step aside iPhone and BlackBerry. this is waaaay beyond cool. but i don't think it'll be mass produced anytime soon. i mean, where am i supposed to slip in my SIM card and where on earth is the battery? looks too fictional to be true. so i guess i'll just stick to my good old unbreakable nokia for the time being.

a lame attempt of me keeping my blog updated, i know. better than nothing right. :D

music with a big M

Photobucket

my 1st to teach a choir. also another 1st to teach an average age group of my age or older than me. i've only gone through the songs a few times. *gonna add it into my playlist and listen to it till i sing in my sleep* and i don't know how to teach warm-ups. *sin yun, paul, HELP!* enough said to explain the stress i was in. and the fact that joanna would not be joining our practice until delivering her baby was no good to my stress level. thank god for awesome friends that came to my rescue without much hesitation. heart you guys. :D

i know i'm not a good teacher. too impatient to help people understand. always rushing into things and babble out whatever that comes into mind. i guess that's why i was picked for the job. to help them learn and also to help myself

to learn to listen. to be patient. to be responsible for my acts and words. to understand and help.

greatest satisfaction of all when they sang together in unison and harmony. music is so simple yet beautiful. even with just our voices, it is enough.

despite all things, i still hope sunday will take its time to arrive. stress!
