one of my favourite things

just got my rm200 book voucher yesterday. much thanks to the government and our college admin. i'm a happy girl! :)

time to hit the bookstore and stock up on some good reads. excited to plunge into the unknown world the authors built up with a string of words! books contain the most wonderful things. don't ya agree?

i like you.

there are people with such a like-able personality, that you could't help but look forward to spending time or just talk to them. friends like that are loads of fun to be with. they just make me genuinely happy without even trying. i could laugh all day at their dorky-ness. and yet sometimes, they can be serious, but just for a minute or two. :p

don't get me wrong though, i adore my other friends as well. but you've gotta agree, there are that handful of special people in your life that you just can't help but like / love. friends that make you smile when you think of them. friends that you like from the bottom of your heart. friends that you look forward to meet. friends that gives you the warm feeling when you're around them. friends that you love as a friend. :)

what's up?

hellooooo. it's been awhile! a quick update.

i PASSED all the papers i took in June'10. thank god for that! it'd be a real headache to re-sit all those papers again as i've already failed them once. failing is not an option. the treacherous process of learning everything all over again and seeing the same lecturers for another 6 months is just too much to bear.

so, thank you all for your prayers and encouragement. and most of all thank god for pulling me through! :D

it's over and done with. weeeeeeeeeeee~ i love not being guilty of sleeping too much and not drowned by notes. :)

see you on 6july, acca! for now, i can have my life back.

with college mates

a simple celebration with the april babies in plus one shabu shabu, 1U. pretty last minute but the gang came. had a great time catching up as i'm no longer in the same class with them. they're still the usual noisy bunch i've come to love! ;p after this year, it'd be pretty hard to have everyone gather around like this again. :'(

food was okay. portion is a tad bit small. they had all sorts of sauces lined up out front. we ambitiously took a few. some of it are just blegh. lesson learnt, never take those with names you've never heard of. oh and we had this really big room at the back. everyone else was eating out in the main portion of the restaurant. and we were in the pretty room. it feels like reunion dinner! good thing though, cuz we made a lot of noise! ;p

thank you for those who put thought into this celebration. i had a really great time! all the food and pictures! a really memorable 21st~ :)

2nd round was with the crazy girls. had dinner in this japanese restaurant owned by wanying's friend at old klang road. food was decent. great company. what more do you need for a fun night out? (:

it was a pretty dashing day for me. had class in the morning till 5pm. rushed back home. didn't even have time for a shower and zhijie was already outside my doorstep. damn efficient! haha. waited for the rest at wanying's. zimei was the latest! oh my, how my tummy was grumbling~

we had a room to ourselves too. but the walls were so thin. the room next to us may have problem eating in peace what with the chatter and LOUD laughs going on. we can totally ruin a shop's reputation with our voices. not to say it's anything to be proud of. :p

highlight of the night - just when me and zimei were about to blow out the candles on the cake, i covered her mouth just in time and she missed the candles. xD she was so determined to blow out the candles that we had to light it up again for her. and this time she pushed me far away to stop the same thing from happening again. persistent much! ;p i didn't know why i did it. i thought it'd never work and it did! best laugh i had in a good long while.

random facts #3

had a funny encounter on the way home today. i was on the bus. paid the driver in notes and he owed me 50cents change. he asked me to wait for the next passenger to pay him. then a negro came along and paid his fare. the driver gave me 40cents from the negro and i see him rummaging in his pocket for the last 10cent. he couldn't find any and so he said 'could you borrow me 10cents?' 'you don't have 10cents? well, then it's okay.' 'really? thank you!:D' he told his friend about it and i think i heard something like 'do you have 10cents?' maybe he was planning to pay me back. funny!

i was feeling quite good about the whole thing and so i'm blogging about this now. happy to show foreigners that we malaysians are helpful and loving people. *ahhem* i meant me! xD

myf #1

a truly inspirational encounter with the ladies. inspiration to do good and not otherwise. somethings are not worth trying. we all know that. but it was from talking to them that i truly realize it. it's easy to get hooked onto it but it's not easy to get rid of it. family plays an important role but for some, their families don't even wanna have anything to do with them.their friends do not know of their problems. so who else can they depend on when it gets rough and tempting? nothing but god. they can't even depend on themselves because the desire is too strong. only god. i pray that He will continue to be their strength and guide throughout their lives. because it's a constant battle that's hard to win.

glad i went with the myf people. truly an eye-opener. and the girls are nice! (:

joycelyn turned 21 :D

went over to joyce's crib for an early birthday celebration. a simple one with friends and her family members. great opportunity for the old girls to meet for some catch up sessions. some of them i've not seen since high school graduation! goodness have we all changed. but deep inside we're still the noisy bunch from kuencheng high, which is a relief to know. :D

the journey to her place was pretty chaotic i would say. being the only person among the few of us who've actually been there, i took on the role of leading them there. despite some wrong turns and dead-ends, we manage to arrive there just fine. *imagine doing few U-turns without power steering. i've helped build some muscles for tingfang. :p*

to cut it short, had an awesome time with this bunch of awesome ladies! who's turning 21 next? :p

reunion dinner was the same old steamboat. it's becoming the chin family tradition. -.- mum proposed to have kfc for a change this year. *prices of everything rockets sky high during cny, but kfc prices are still the same - she said*  but our mr chin did not approve of it so, steamboat it is!

wishing everyone a blessed new year with good health, wealth, love and kindness for the next year. and also for me, to pass all my papers! praying hard for a smooth pass from december10 sitting. my heart can't take any more failures. :D

i made a promise to myself. that i'd post all 2010 events in 2010! oh well, i'm no good in keeping promises apparently. even those for myself. tsk tsk.

christmas was the same as every year. morning service in chin woo stadium. christmas luncheon is to be skipped for family lunch at aunt's place in puchong. and dinner at another aunt's place in taman tun. a day full of singing, presents and of course ,wouldn't miss it for the world, MAKAN! :p

went to chinwoo early in the morning for band practice as i missed it when i was in thailand. got there around 7.30am i think. feeling awfully sleepy early in the morning. took sometime for the muscians and PA team to set up the place. started practice at about 8.30am. paul ng the clown manage to chase away my sleepiness with his lame and dorky-ness. :p regretted for leaving my slippers behind that morning. it'd make arranging the chairs easier. mind you, we had ROWS and ROWS of chairs to arrange. dusty chairs but we didn't have the energy to wipe each and every chair there was. so there you go.

christmas service was it's usual christmas-y self. about jesus, his birth, his mission to save mankind, his love and his passion for sinners. well, you get my drift. it was AFTER service where we had fun. pictures and presents and MORE pictures! adding fun to it all is the new dslr that makes people camwhore even more than usual. yeap, cmcckl-ers are born camwhorers. don't mess yo!

then it was makan time throughout the day. from lunch to dinner. 1 house to another. puchong to taman tun. non stop eating. i've gained pounds just in that one day! *nom nom nom* awesome!

wanying's 21 birthday

went over to wanying's place for an early birthday celebration. thank you 'kai ma' for preparing steamboat for us. the earlier plan was to have movie and japanese food for dinner. but things were a bit chaotic and unconfirmed. till the very last minute aka the day before, only the plan was confirmed. got back from malacca and straight went to king's to get a cake and off we go to the house.

it has been months since we last met up. there were A LOT of catching up and gossips to pass around. not to mention a lot of crazy laughing moments too. i always feel relieve after meeting up with old friends. to realize nothing much has changed between us all even though we couldn't meet up with each other all the time. to be able to laugh about the past and discuss about the present.

i love you all! :D

christmas spree

went to midvalley yesterday to do some christmas shopping before going to thailand tomorrow. saw LOTS of big cuddly teddy bears there. it was all over the place. in all 3 south, centre and north court centre. and also the few main entrances. i love going shopping malls during christmas season. all nicely decorated with toys and bright colors. really brings out the happy mood of shoppers. so that we'll spend more there. :p

me and ben went there earlier to shop. and peayying met us up for lunch in chilis in the afternoon. got my 1st taste of chilis mash potato. OMG!! i would never want any other mash potatoes from now on. it's THE mash potato for goodness sake. freaking best mash potato i EVER had. craving for it now. yumyum. we sat there for 4hours plus refilling again and again on our drinks and chips. ben fell asleep for awhile. i rooted for some asean basketball team shown on chilis tv. they were wearing blue uniforms and they won. WOOHOO! we talked about margaritas, drinking habits, clubs, driving, the perfect time to take ktm, sports and a lot more i can't remember. hahahaha. we're such random people. but i love it! awesome day out with awesome friends! :D

a trip up north part 1 (2009)

THIS IS SO OVERDUE. like A YEAR overdue. i'm pathetically sorry! made a promise to myself that i'd post it up before i go to thailand this year aka 2010. so here it is. read this up while i brew my 2nd post on this year's thailand trip. it's FULL of words. i bet this would keep you company while i come up with the other one. :p

went to thailand with the family on the 26th. we wanted to leave kl earlier but there were christmas service, family gatherings and stuff. so we could only leave after everything was settled.

my aunt's a thai and her family in nakhon built a new house there. so we all went there to check it out, with a little vacation for ourselves on the way. we started journey around 11am. my back was stiff for sitting so long and i couldn't sleep the whole journey because i had to make sure my dad wasn't sleepy. when we finally reached nakhon it was around 9pm. and when i saw the house, i was like 'omggggg, is this the right house?!!'. it was so cool. and to know that they built it all by themselves is even more impressing.

the house was bigger than i expected. with 2 toilets, 3 rooms, a kitchen and huge hall. they even have a driveway for goodness sake. so not your ordinary kampung house. and with the money my uncle gave them, it'd only be enough to build a small small house here in kl, but they manage to build a mini bungalow there. picture that.

- chickens in nakhon sleeps on trees.

seriously. they're only slightly bigger than a dove and they'd fly up the tree to sleep around evening. crazy man. now who says chickens can't fly?

- the water there was freezing cold.

in nakhon, they use well waters for bathing and washing and everything. and boy i tell you the water is so colddddddddd. *shivers* i know you'd say i'm a spoiled brat with the luxury of hot water for my whole life but it's not about that. even my aunt went 'woohoooo' while she's in the shower. instant wake up call i tell you. the cold water here is nothing compared to that. nothing.

- the kids are really kids.

there's no internet connections or astro in nakhon. at least i think they don't. so the kids have to find their own entertainments. they'd be running around the house chasing after the dog or competing to see who's the fastest to climb up a pole or killing bugs and insects in the house. they're not the same with kids in the city. in kl, even an 8 year old has a facebook account. but these kids are really just kids, if you get my drift. they have all this innocence and passion. this their childhood. all this will become beautiful memories for them to look back upon. i kinda envy them.

- uncle onn's special pet.

1 of my aunt's brother, uncle onn/ohn/on (i never get the hang of thai names) owns a flying fox named han as a pet. still craving for hamsters as pet? pleaseeee lah. out of date dy. :p mum was terrified of it. she can't stand furry animals. don't know why though. han is kinda cute. it'd curl up into a ball and sleep on my hand. not sure it could fly though. looks more like a baby squirrel than a flying fox. but i've never seen a real flying fox. :p wished i could bring back a flying fox as a pet. mum would be FURIOUS.

ben is 17 now

me and peay ying celebrated ben's 17th birthday in gardens. only 3 of us. everyone else was either NOT in malaysia or grounded by parents or too sleepy cuz they stayed up till 3am the night before or just too busy to join us. so yeah, mini celebration for the birthday boy.

midvalley's cinema was packed full for step up 3 so we went over to gardens to try our luck. no luck was needed apparently. the place was so expensive i don't think much people would go there for a movie. well we did. the seats there were all couple seats so 1 of us had to sit alone. awww. well actually the seats are big enough for 3 of us. and sitting together was a better option because the air cond is so freaking cold! -.- me and py were seating together. birthday boy was seating alone. i was moving from seat to seat to teman the 2 cousins. and with any luck, i was annoying the person sitting right behind us too, for having an itchy butt. :p

step up 3 was freaking awesome! way better than the 2nd movie i watched in ppstream. the dance moves and especially the last dance battle was way wicked! super love the guy that did the robot dance. he's like the terminator dude! omg! very impressive. ben enjoyed himself too with the dancer's butt and boobs. pfft. guys. -.-

chilli's was full to the brim. so we went to TGIF for lunch. the waiter gave ben a slice of birthday cake and made him blow the candle while the waiter was holding it a few steps away. well, they actually wanted to made him drink a whole bottle of henz chilli sauce and give a speech and sing a song but their plan failed terribly. our birthday boy was just too shy. hahaha.
