symphony of praise

another successful concert by the PJYO and grace note choir to raise funds for a nepalese fund to help them live a better life here in malaysia. a good cause by the church. the concert was held in first baptist church, pj. i was astounded by it's huge stage and awesome surrounding system. even though we weren't playing on a grand piano as per previous concerts (it was an upright piano this time), every mistakes of ours could be heard clearly right at the back of the hall. that raised our hypertension level by a tad bit. just a LITTLE bit. i kid you not.

i played He. again. i'm pretty sure the audience are bored of me by now. seeing that i've played the song again and again for the past few concerts. :p despite playing it for several times, i still manage to creep in a few mistakes here again. how typical of me. gladly to say that not many people notice my shortfalls. if you don't count mr lam, the WHOLE orchestra and well maybe my fellow solo pianists performers. :p

the concert went on smoothly. grace notes were awesome as they always are. love love love their harmony! every hard work they put in was worth it. as for the solo pianists performance, we did okay. yuesum blanked out for a few bars but manage to get it back right on track. now that's something worth applauding for. kaier had her fair share of mistakes and making the orchestra chase after her 'rushed' timing. overall, it was a fun night and i was happy to finally strike that off my calendar. mission accomplished!

pianists waiting to perform

the awesome people for the concert's success (:

p/s: this was what kept us entertained during rehearsals. monopoly deal! :p

music with a big M

Photobucket

my 1st to teach a choir. also another 1st to teach an average age group of my age or older than me. i've only gone through the songs a few times. *gonna add it into my playlist and listen to it till i sing in my sleep* and i don't know how to teach warm-ups. *sin yun, paul, HELP!* enough said to explain the stress i was in. and the fact that joanna would not be joining our practice until delivering her baby was no good to my stress level. thank god for awesome friends that came to my rescue without much hesitation. heart you guys. :D

i know i'm not a good teacher. too impatient to help people understand. always rushing into things and babble out whatever that comes into mind. i guess that's why i was picked for the job. to help them learn and also to help myself

to learn to listen. to be patient. to be responsible for my acts and words. to understand and help.

greatest satisfaction of all when they sang together in unison and harmony. music is so simple yet beautiful. even with just our voices, it is enough.

despite all things, i still hope sunday will take its time to arrive. stress!

temporary home

Little boy, 6 years old
A little too used to bein' alone

Another new mom and dad, another school
Another house that'll never be home
When people ask him how he likes this place
He looks up and says with a smile upon his face

"This is my temporary home
It's not where I belong
Windows and rooms that I'm passin' through
This is just a stop, on the way to where I'm going
I'm not afraid because I know this is my
Temporary Home."

Young mom on her own
She needs a little help got nowhere to go
She's lookin' for a job, lookin' for a way out
Because a half-way house will never be a home
At night she whispers to her baby girl
Someday we'll find a place here in this world

"This is our temporary home
It's not where we belong
Windows and rooms that we're passin' through
This is just a stop, on the way to where we're going
I'm not afraid because I know this is our
Temporary Home."

Old man, hospital bed
The room is filled with people he loves
And he whispers don't cry for me
I'll see you all someday
He looks up and says "I can see God's face"

"This is my temporary Home
It's not where I belong
Windows and rooms that I'm passin' through
This was just a stop,on the way To where I'm going
I'm not afraid because I know this was
My temporary home."

This is our temporary home

super love this link jy posted on facebook and i just had to post it here to share with you guys. it's so true that this is our temporary home. we all have to go back somewhere someday. somewhere we belong. somewhere nothing matters but only us and Him. it doesn't matter if we're alone because He's there all the time.

i kept listening to the song again and again. the lyrics are so beautiful. 'He looks up and says "I can see God's face". 1 of the lines that really touched my heart. God was there to welcome him to go home. to go back where he belong.

p/s: sony entertainment disabled all embedding of the official carrie underwood videos. so check out the official mv here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_SR3BlsmH4. super love the mv. :D

victor borgue

borgue is to be pronounced as BOR-GUH. danish comedian, pianist and conductor. google him if you're interested. love the way he blends humor into his music. especially classical music. he makes it fun to learn. i'm left with a big WOW after every video. a true entertainer and music-lover. unfortunately, he's no longer with us. i so wanna meet him in heaven!
http://www.emocutez.com

'follow me please!' and there he was playing at a different key putting the blame on the poor guy. HAHAHAHHAHA.

HAHAHHAA OMG HE CHASED HIS VIOLINIST OFF THE STAGE. freaking hilarious. and he was doing it with live audience seated. how awesome is that. i wanna watch this kinda concert!

Quoted by him: 'And now, in honour of the 150th anniversary of Beethoven's death, I would like to play "Clear the Saloon", er, "Clair de Lune", by Debussy. I don't play Beethoven so well, but I play Debussy very badly, and Beethoven would have liked that.'

HAHHAHAHAH i love his humor.

a-lin

hallelujah - kate voegele

Well I've heard there was a secret chord
David played and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do ya?
Well it goes like this:
The fourth, the fifth, the minor fall and the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Well your fatih was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you
She tied you to her kitchen chair
She broke your throne, she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Oh baby I have been here before
I've seen this room and I've walked this floor
You know I used to live alone before I knew you
And I've seen your flag on the marble arch
And love is not a victory march
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Well there was a time when you let me know
What's really going on below
But now you never show that to me do you
And remember when I moved in you
The holy dove was moving too
And every breath we drew was Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Well maybe there is a God above
But all I've ever learned from love
Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew you
And it's not a cry you that hear at night
It's not somebody who's seen the light
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelu
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

idol crowned

kris allen Pictures, Images and Photos

kris allen is the new idol!! i am not a diehard fan of kris. danny gokey has been my favourite since the start. and i've gotta say i was kinda sad he didn't make it into the finals. anyhow, congrats to kris!! :)

everyone thought adam lambert is gonna be the new idol. who would've thought otherwise. the results are shocking. i know adam deserves the title. but still secretly hope kris gets it. what can i say. adam scares me. everytime he sings, i'm dreading the moment he reaches those inhuman high notes. he's good. but he freaks me out.

p/s: i'm watching idol now. no astro. i know the results even before i watched their performance. @_______@

Oh Baby

Oh Baby

okay.. i'm supposed to sleep
but stumbled upon this really nice song in my playlist
so here's the lyrics..

will post the song later
mum's gonna wake up soon
i better get to bed before she gets outta bed =P
