my 21st :)

with college mates

a simple celebration with the april babies in plus one shabu shabu, 1U. pretty last minute but the gang came. had a great time catching up as i'm no longer in the same class with them. they're still the usual noisy bunch i've come to love! ;p after this year, it'd be pretty hard to have everyone gather around like this again. :'(

food was okay. portion is a tad bit small. they had all sorts of sauces lined up out front. we ambitiously took a few. some of it are just blegh. lesson learnt, never take those with names you've never heard of. oh and we had this really big room at the back. everyone else was eating out in the main portion of the restaurant. and we were in the pretty room. it feels like reunion dinner! good thing though, cuz we made a lot of noise! ;p

thank you for those who put thought into this celebration. i had a really great time! all the food and pictures! a really memorable 21st~ :)

2nd round was with the crazy girls. had dinner in this japanese restaurant owned by wanying's friend at old klang road. food was decent. great company. what more do you need for a fun night out? (:

it was a pretty dashing day for me. had class in the morning till 5pm. rushed back home. didn't even have time for a shower and zhijie was already outside my doorstep. damn efficient! haha. waited for the rest at wanying's. zimei was the latest! oh my, how my tummy was grumbling~

we had a room to ourselves too. but the walls were so thin. the room next to us may have problem eating in peace what with the chatter and LOUD laughs going on. we can totally ruin a shop's reputation with our voices. not to say it's anything to be proud of. :p

highlight of the night - just when me and zimei were about to blow out the candles on the cake, i covered her mouth just in time and she missed the candles. xD she was so determined to blow out the candles that we had to light it up again for her. and this time she pushed me far away to stop the same thing from happening again. persistent much! ;p i didn't know why i did it. i thought it'd never work and it did! best laugh i had in a good long while.

joycelyn turned 21 :D

went over to joyce's crib for an early birthday celebration. a simple one with friends and her family members. great opportunity for the old girls to meet for some catch up sessions. some of them i've not seen since high school graduation! goodness have we all changed. but deep inside we're still the noisy bunch from kuencheng high, which is a relief to know. :D

the journey to her place was pretty chaotic i would say. being the only person among the few of us who've actually been there, i took on the role of leading them there. despite some wrong turns and dead-ends, we manage to arrive there just fine. *imagine doing few U-turns without power steering. i've helped build some muscles for tingfang. :p*

to cut it short, had an awesome time with this bunch of awesome ladies! who's turning 21 next? :p

wanying's 21 birthday

went over to wanying's place for an early birthday celebration. thank you 'kai ma' for preparing steamboat for us. the earlier plan was to have movie and japanese food for dinner. but things were a bit chaotic and unconfirmed. till the very last minute aka the day before, only the plan was confirmed. got back from malacca and straight went to king's to get a cake and off we go to the house.

it has been months since we last met up. there were A LOT of catching up and gossips to pass around. not to mention a lot of crazy laughing moments too. i always feel relieve after meeting up with old friends. to realize nothing much has changed between us all even though we couldn't meet up with each other all the time. to be able to laugh about the past and discuss about the present.

i love you all! :D

christmas spree

went to midvalley yesterday to do some christmas shopping before going to thailand tomorrow. saw LOTS of big cuddly teddy bears there. it was all over the place. in all 3 south, centre and north court centre. and also the few main entrances. i love going shopping malls during christmas season. all nicely decorated with toys and bright colors. really brings out the happy mood of shoppers. so that we'll spend more there. :p

me and ben went there earlier to shop. and peayying met us up for lunch in chilis in the afternoon. got my 1st taste of chilis mash potato. OMG!! i would never want any other mash potatoes from now on. it's THE mash potato for goodness sake. freaking best mash potato i EVER had. craving for it now. yumyum. we sat there for 4hours plus refilling again and again on our drinks and chips. ben fell asleep for awhile. i rooted for some asean basketball team shown on chilis tv. they were wearing blue uniforms and they won. WOOHOO! we talked about margaritas, drinking habits, clubs, driving, the perfect time to take ktm, sports and a lot more i can't remember. hahahaha. we're such random people. but i love it! awesome day out with awesome friends! :D

ben is 17 now

me and peay ying celebrated ben's 17th birthday in gardens. only 3 of us. everyone else was either NOT in malaysia or grounded by parents or too sleepy cuz they stayed up till 3am the night before or just too busy to join us. so yeah, mini celebration for the birthday boy.

midvalley's cinema was packed full for step up 3 so we went over to gardens to try our luck. no luck was needed apparently. the place was so expensive i don't think much people would go there for a movie. well we did. the seats there were all couple seats so 1 of us had to sit alone. awww. well actually the seats are big enough for 3 of us. and sitting together was a better option because the air cond is so freaking cold! -.- me and py were seating together. birthday boy was seating alone. i was moving from seat to seat to teman the 2 cousins. and with any luck, i was annoying the person sitting right behind us too, for having an itchy butt. :p

step up 3 was freaking awesome! way better than the 2nd movie i watched in ppstream. the dance moves and especially the last dance battle was way wicked! super love the guy that did the robot dance. he's like the terminator dude! omg! very impressive. ben enjoyed himself too with the dancer's butt and boobs. pfft. guys. -.-

chilli's was full to the brim. so we went to TGIF for lunch. the waiter gave ben a slice of birthday cake and made him blow the candle while the waiter was holding it a few steps away. well, they actually wanted to made him drink a whole bottle of henz chilli sauce and give a speech and sing a song but their plan failed terribly. our birthday boy was just too shy. hahaha.

20 is here to stay

the 1st day of being 20 years old. spent it with the BEST birthday present i gave myself ever aka my sprained leg. -.- received tons of birthday wishes from friends through smses and facebook. digi is making a huge profit out of my birthday because somehow a lot of my friends are maxis users. not complaining though. :p my facebook wall was flooded no thanks to my dear friend zhijie who wished me happy birthday 20 times. i just can't wait to be 50 years old, jie. if only facebook could hang on that long. hahah.

went to church for band practice. and as i was practicing the intro-s, boonho asked me to stop playing. i thought he wanted to practice another song or something. but suddenly the whole band was singing 'happy birthday to you. happy birthday to you. happy birthday to kylie. happy birthday to you.' with the guitars and drums and everything. i was so so shocked! jenmay then gave me this huge bag of twisties. she asked me before band practice what were my favorite snacks. i couldn't think of any at that moment but she was plastering me for an answer. then only i knew the reason she was so persistent. :D apparently jenmay found out it was my birthday and then the whole band knew and hence the surprise. it was super awesome. thank you so much. :D

my dad wasn't home so my birthday just ended with a simple cake cutting ceremony at home. it was a fooooood-y day. a 1kg chocolate moose birthday cake, a lot of mini twisties in a huge plastic bag and white chocolates from ben. me likey. ♥

after the oh-i'm-so-dead mock exams which ended on this day itself, we all went to redbox for some stress release and also to celebrate the april babies birthday aka daniel (14 apr), me (17 apr), lawrence (24 apr) and chin shen (25 apr). somehow we love to celebrate birthdays in redbox. we did the same thing last year april. but it was still much fun. :D

there were too many of us and to give everyone a fair share of holding the mic we had 2 rooms. thanks to the awesome liting who registered as a member on the spot. otherwise it wouldn't have been possible.

i was super hungry and didn't really fancy the lunch redbox provided. it will cost another RM10+. i'd rather have kfc which i was really craving for at the moment. jy was craving for it too. when shen and liting was deciding between mcd or kfc, jy was like 'kfc is only a few steps away. but mcd is like a LOT of steps away.' after he said that, without a 2nd thought, kfc it is! HAHHAHAHAHAHHA. it was so funny the way he tried to persuade them to go for kfc. we tried to smuggle our tapau-ed kfc back to redbox which don't allow outside food. after the trouble of hiding the food and drinks and scared to death of getting caught, we WERE caught less than 10 mins after we were in our karaoke booth. really zha dao!

kept running from this room to the next. our room has this super singer, celene yeap. her voice is amazing. while the other room was full of shouting. yeap, they're not there to sing, but there to shout. well, not all of them. maybe just liting who's super hyper and of course ME. xD my voice was hoarse even before a song ended. uber fun!

super shocked at the mini skirt they gave me. it was even shorter than my shortest short pants. lawrence said to me 'kylie jie, 20 years old is like that de la.' and i said 'are you guys gonna gimme a wedding dress when i'm 21?' hahahah. i'm so worried about my 21 year old birthday.

shen's pictures with her birthday present wasn't uploaded on facebook so i don't have any of it here. hers was a purse that looks like it cost RM100. all girls need to look classy okayyy. :D and also a piggy outfit for her tissue box. it looks cute but when it's on the tissue box it looks kinda obscene. okay i don't wanna go into details. :p

near at heart

just to keep you up to date, my torture days are over! couldn't really believe it myself. after T8 i was so relieved, i just wanted to have a big laugh or scream out all the tensions piled up inside of me for the past months. but after T9, which was the real i'm-done-with-exams day, i just felt really tired and hungry and sleepy. excitement all gone. that says a lot about audit doesn't it. it drains the life out of me and when i'm done with it, it feels like i just ran 98374982734271 miles. not sure if i'm gonna pass though.

anyway, now that the study-or-die period is history, it's time to party and laugh like a lunatic.

the plan : lookout point. dinner. breathtaking view. laugh. talk. camwhore.

ended up: traffic jam. gps. 1 car accident. 2 breakdowns. 1U. cake. laugh. talk. camwhore.

awesome plan. but an even more awesome turnout. it was so off our plan but plans are meant to be, well, just plans. what happened the end of the day is more worth remembering. :D

straight after paper T9, liting and i rushed to buy a cake for the belated birthday boy, jy. shen was left behind to buy us time. then mum called and said we couldn't go up lookout point. apparently it was raining like mad in cheras. perfect timing. so changed plan. searched the gps for any good hangouts and somehow we decided on 1U. jammed about an hour to get there. blame the rain and careless drivers. pfft.

went hunting for food once we arrived. chilli's had a longgggg waiting line. so we had our dinner at nando's. we were too hungry to wait for the food so thank goodness for the cake. the waiters saw the cake and wished us happy birthday. not jy but US. he didn't know who to wish so he took the safe side and wished us all. the cake was awesome. food was awesome. but we weren't the fairest judge at that moment. hunger makes everything taste simply yummy.

there were really nice christmas deco in 1U. so *snap snap*-ed all the way. i just love liting's 500D. someone get it for me this christmas!!!!!!!!!!! shen tried the jump shot. jy said it sucked and so he demonstrated. broke a chair in the process. not that it was his 1st. broke 2 in sunway U and now another 1 to be added into his list of vandalism. :P he was pretty sure that the guards were tracking him down. a total paranoid.

jy dropped shen and xinyi home 1st. i then took them up to the hilltop to have a view of kl. the sky was sooo clear after the heavy rain. it was a pity we couldn't go to lookout point. it's even better up there. at least now we know where to go for our next outing. :D

i've always love going out with close friends. even if it's just a simple dinner or drinks at the mamak. we could just laugh and talk about everything. not worrying what's the right thing to say or do. but just being who we are deep down inside. what more to ask in life but friends like these.

far away but near at heart

welcome back baba etha!! :D

met up with the girls for a short reunion since etha is only visiting for 3 days. why lar only 3 days?! she has 2 months break and we only got 3 days. the rest she's spending it in indo. apparently she's just gonna rot at home. may as well spend it with us right. self-interest.

the 1st thing she said to me - "you've not change much." it was much of a relief i guess. when it's coming for someone i've not met for the past 2 years, it's probably the truth. happy that i'm still the same old kylie. whom, though in the tough world of CAT, still remains sane. :D

it's always nice to meet up with old friends. no matter how far away or how long we meet up once, we'd still be able to laugh and talk like the good old days. but somehow i always feel sad after that. the feeling that i've lost some connection with them. it's like we're all headed into different directions but not heading towards it together. i miss the times where we had the same aim. be it passing the exams together or fooling the teachers. there's always that something that connects us together. but now, there's only memories left. memories of what used to be.

i guess this is life. you gain and you lose. it's only fair this way.

met up with the kuen cheng girls for a reunion at yuen steamboat. i don't know why they picked that place. i've spent most of my days there this year. so i was kinda reluctant to go. but i'm glad i did. miss them much.

the place was packed full. thank goodness mq did some booking. 2 tables = 20 extremely noisy girls. i don't remember us being so noisy. probably because we've not meet up for a few months. and everyone's like talking all at once. the noise was just. crazy. especially my table. not because of me though. i swear. it was NOT because of me. i bet the people sitting around us knew what we were talking about. haha..

i don't know why i was crying while steamboat-ing. i blame it on the smoke!! the last time i went there, same thing happened. thought it would be different this time. but no. i've got sensitive eyes. @_______@

oh ya. did i mention i directed tingfang to sunway and back? my mum was so confident that we'd lost our way. and i proved her wrong!! awesome.

never thought that they'd buy a cake & celebrate my birthday in class like that

it was kinda dark in the karaoke room and i had to switch on the lights to clearly see their faces

feels so good to see them again

i miss you guys terribly

when i arrived some of them had to leave already T_T

so in the end there were only 5 of us left (wanying, zimei, zhijie, carmen & me)

zhijie blasted the sound system and we were screaming our lungs out

yes i meant screaming, not singing *haha*

our time was up at 6:30pm but we stayed in the room until the operator switched off the mains

and that was already 7pm :P

so we went off to wong kok for dinner & the super large free jug of tea which is only given out to the birthday baby of that day

not sure what the tea is called but it tastes like teh tarik

had a lot of fun catching up with each other & laughing our heads off

i never realized how much i miss you all until i finally see you guys face to face

time just flies

but i hope our bond will stay strong

i'll always remember the happy & insane moments

it'll be some time before we meet again
